Beauty vs pretty – A beautiful woman is put on a pedestal. She is generally looked at and admired, someone who is a cut above average. These are the women who are models, fairytale princesses, actresses. If there is a group of a hundred people, maybe five of them will be beautiful. The most common use of the word beautiful is in reference to women, occasionally older children and teenagers. It is widely considered to apply only females.
A pretty person is more common, but still lovely. They are average people who are enjoyable to look at. If there is a group of a hundred people, maybe thirty will be pretty. This word is most usually used to describe teens, tweens, and young women. For me, the word is androgynous, but most people apply it to females. A cute woman is one who has childlike personality traits or appearances. This word is synonymous with adorable.
Difference Between Beauty Vs Pretty
Beauty is what is on the outside and yet reaches all the way into the depths of the soul. Beauty comes from within. A woman is beautiful when she radiates a certain grace, a contained passion and attraction.
Whereas, pretty is only an outwards appearance which can be cosmetically enhanced. Pretty women have to wear make up at all times in order to feel attractive. For example – celebrities around us are all pretty whereas beauty is always beautiful.
Definition of Beauty Vs Pretty
Being beautiful is technically considered superior to being pretty, although the two are oddly listed as synonyms of each other.
- Beautiful – Pleasing to the senses or mind aesthetically
- Pretty – attractive in a delicate way without being truly beautiful.
- Pretty is considered a milder form of beautiful.
A great example of this would be comparing a daisy to a rose. The daisy would be considered pretty whereas the rose would be considered beautiful.

Beauty can be defined either as nice or excellent personality. We frequently associate the word beautiful not only with the person, but also with objects. When we talk about individuals, we use it for women or girls.
This suggests that the woman is very beautiful and pleasing to the eye. It also recommends a sense of beauty that goes beyond mere physical appearance and even includes the personality of the woman. However, it is also interesting to consider that we rarely wear beautiful for men. Instead of the word “beautiful” we often use the word “handsome” when stating to mens.
